History

Blossom House began in 1989 when the first small language centred nursery group started. The group was run on the philosophy that children need ‘language to learn’ and ‘to learn language’ through exposure to a range of experiences that enable them to master other skills. The nursery was originally run from Joey Burgess's own home. Then in 1993 Blossom House extended its original brief and began to provide full time education for those children who continued to require a highly supportive, language based curriculum.

It was at this point that the school moved up the road into 8 The Drive, and started to meet the high demand for children who needed the unique environment that Blossom House provides. Blossom House continued to grow, and expanded into a full primary school. By 2005 it became obvious that there was a need for a secondary provision, and so when the building next door became available, the school moved again into larger, newly refurbished premises, with a sports hall and proper provision for art, design and technology and ICT. With the opening in 2012 of our post 16 provision, and our site in Euston, there are currently 282 pupils from the age of 3 to 19, and over 200 full and part time staff.

In April 2015 the school moved again, to new and bigger premises in Motspur Park. Our pupils are now benefiting from more space and better facilities, with excellent local sports and outdoor facilities.
