Transition
with Crystal Minors, Merton's SEND Team Manager
and David Cafferty, Merton Team for People with Learning Disabilities and Transitions
Find out what support Merton can offer young people with SEN or disabilities aged 14 to 25 transitioning into adulthood.
This session will be particularly relevant to parents/carers of children who are currently eligible for children’s social care (not just Short Breaks) and who are expecting to transition into Adult Social Care, e.g. children with a learning disability (LD) & complex needs including severe & profound LD.
Ask your questions about transitioning into Adult Social Care which may include services such as supported living, residential care & day centre services.

Autumn SEN Holiday Camps
Do you have a child with a mild to moderate special educational need who would like to attend a fun activity summer camp?
Is your child aged between 6 and 12 years?
Can they take part in a small group activity, if supported by trained staff?
Merton Mencap’s Movers & Makers offer Holiday Camps for children with mild to moderate special educational needs.
Each day will be a balance of calm, physical, sensory and food activities, for example:
- recycled robots craft - balloon tennis - yoga -
- cupcake decorating - ingredient experimenting - music making -
The camps have been organised following huge demand from parents for SEN focused activities run by staff and volunteers with experience of supporting children with SEN.
